Mon / Wed double sessions, Tue / Thu morning shooting plus summer league, Smallball Tournament 6/19–6/21. See the Notes section above for the full text version.
All workouts and practices are optional. We understand it’s summer and families need vacation time — we encourage you to get away. If you’ll be on vacation or otherwise out, please let the coaches know so we can plan accordingly.
Schedule may be updated on a weekly basis if needed. Check the Notes section above before each week for changes.
July schedule is tentative for now and will be finalized closer to that month.
Coming soon: Weight and speed / agility training will be added to the schedule once finalized.
Offensive sets, defensive principles, and game-specific calls. Players: bookmark this and review before every practice and game.
Hosted on GameTriq. Sets, defenses, and out-of-bounds plays in one place. Updated as we install.
Everything we do, every drill, every game, every conversation, is grounded in these three pillars. They are the standard by which we measure ourselves as players and as men.
Basketball is the vehicle. Character is the destination. Every drill, every film session, every timeout is a teaching moment about who our players are becoming, not just what they produce on the court.
A team is not a roster, it is a covenant. We build it through radical honesty, genuine relationships, and a culture where players hold each other accountable because they own the program together.
Excellence has a process. We build a system for practice, for decision-making, for handling adversity, and we execute it relentlessly. But great coaches adapt that system to their people without abandoning their principles.
Being a JP2 Lion is a privilege, not a right. We expect commitment from every player and their family. Here is what that looks like.
Maintain GPA requirements. No exceptions. Coaches monitor grades and partner with teachers to keep you eligible and on track. The classroom comes before the court.
Be on time and be present. Missed practices and unexcused absences affect the entire team. Effort is non-negotiable.
The season is won in the off-season. Summer workouts, open gyms, and conditioning are expected. Consistency in preparation creates confidence in competition.
Represent JP2 with class. On campus, online, and in the community, you carry the name. Athletics at this school are an expression of its mission.
We are building a program, not just a team. Parent support, communication, and engagement are part of the covenant.
